Summary:Provides moderate to complex technical and functional
support for complex multi-user departmental applications including
hardware, software, and applications.Location: Dunn Behavioral
Sciences Center/HCPC at UTHealth HoustonDept.: BSC QualityStatus:
Full-TimeFLSA: ExemptPosition Key Accountabilities:
- Manages and/or performs the administrative configurations of
multi-user departmental applications (i.e. authorization rules,
automated provisioning interfaces, metadata, data structures etc.)
to meet the needs of the department.
- Works with System Administrators to configure servers and
operating systems to meet the needs of the department.
- Assesses how well application(s) are meeting the varied needs
of the user community and recommends and implements approved
changes in process, procedures, and interfaces when
appropriate.
- Proactively works with the UTHSC-H Help Desk, IT Security,
Network Operations, Desktop Support, and DataCenter Operations as
appropriate to provide and support application security,
performance, reliability, integrity, and availability for the user
community.
- Ensures that the system owner understands their role and
responsibilities and ensures that expectations are appropriately
met.
- Evaluates application upgrades to determine applicability.
Develops and executes upgrade plans.
- Develops and tests disaster recovery and business continuity
plans appropriate for the application.
- Provides end user training and support for the
application.
- Implements and administers application security in accordance
with best practice, UT, State, and Federal regulation.
- Provides first level technical support and is the liaison for
second level technical support.
- May manage HR activities for direct reports in regards to:
recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training,
professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance
evaluations, and salary planning.
- Other duties as assigned.Certification/Skills:
- Advanced skills with multi-user departmental applications.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communicative skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Technical proficiency with hardware, software, and
application.
- Solid understanding of departmental use of the
application.
- Familiar with WEB technology, database concepts, and
networking.Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree or relevant
experience in lieu of education.Minimum Experience:Five years of
experience in administration, configuration, and support of complex
multi-user applications.Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 50
pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
and/or 10 pounds constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This
job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and
thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code -
51.215.Residency Requirement:Employees must permanently reside and
